Tuition Assistance at PVS

Palm Valley School seeks to attract highly qualified students and supportive families to join our school community. We are committed to ensuring that any child who qualifies for admission not be denied the opportunity to attend our school due to demonstrated financial need.

Palm Valley School awards a generous amount annually to qualified students who wish to attend our school. We employ the Tuition Assistance model for all students who apply and qualify. Students with demonstrated financial need pay a tuition price that fits their family’s ability to pay. We offer a variety of financed payment plans to accommodate families who wish to make monthly payments over 10 months.

The tuition Assistance portal opens every year in mid-January for the following school year. We encourage you to apply before May each year to be eligible for the most assistance possible for your family.

FAQs

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • Q. How is Tuition Assistance Determined?

The Tuition Assistance Committee uses Smart Aid for Schools to determine what a family is expected to contribute toward educational expenses. The Smart Aid for Schools methodology considers such things as taxable and non-taxable income, assets, and investments and makes allowances for daily living expenses. The formula also considers family size and the number of children attending tuition-charging schools. The Palm Valley Tuition Assistance Committee makes final decisions on all awards.
  • Q. Is There A Separate Tuition Assistance Application?

The tuition assistance application process is separate and distinct, running concurrently with the admission application process. Families interested in applying for tuition assistance must submit a tuition assistance application in addition to their admission application. The tuition assistance application is available starting mid-January and will be open until funds are no longer available. It requires supplemental documents that must also be uploaded by the deadline. While an admission application must be filled out for each student applying to the school, one financial aid application can cover all students of the same family as long as they are listed within the application.
  • Q. How Many Palm Valley Families Receive Tuition Assistance?

While it varies yearly, approximately 30-40% of Palm Valley families receive financial assistance.
  • Q. Does Applying For Financial Aid Reduce My Child's Chances Of Admission?

Palm Valley considers each application on its own merits, regardless of whether a family is requesting tuition assistance. Applying for tuition assistance does not reduce an applicant’s chances of admission.
  • Q. If I Qualify For Tuition Assistance, Will I Be Guaranteed The Same Amount Every Year That My Child Attends Palm Valley?

All families must reapply for tuition assistance every year with updated information. Assuming a family continues to show the same demonstrated need, Palm Valley will strive to continue its tuition assistance to all students in good standing.
